These former Senators went on to become a hit in the Midwest. The Minnesota
Twins professional baseball franchise was formed in 1901 by Ban Johnson as the
Washington Senators. A charter member of the American League, the Major League
Baseball team moved to Minneapolis in 1960.
In 1961 would remain officially the "Senators" for good, although space-saving
headline writers continued to refer to them as "Nats" frequently. In 1969, Billy
Martin was named manager. Martin pushed aggressive base running, with Rod Carew
stealing home 7 times.
In 1997, owner Carl Pohlad almost sold the Twins to North Carolina businessman
Don Beaver, who would have moved the team to the Piedmont Triad (Greensboro -
Winston-Salem - High Point) area of the state. The defeat of a referendum for a
stadium in that area and a lack of interest in building a stadium for the Twins
in Charlotte killed the deal. |

very impressive. All players of this team are played very wonderfully. Minnesota
Twins is my all time choice team.

color is very cool & I like very much. This team performance is very
outstanding. I am watching every match of this team.
